We can accommodate a wedding party of up to 54 within the building and up to 100 in a marquee. The marquee is specially designed to adjoin the building with window walls overlooking the lawns.

The Wedding Ceremony
Knockderry House and its gardens, patios and terraces are licensed for the conduct of civil ceremonies and any recognised denominational ceremony.
A religious ceremony may be solemnised only by a minister, clergyman, pastor, priest. If you wish to be married in Knockderry House by your own priest or minister then this can be accommodated - you need only arrange it with the officiating person. Local Churches have been historically willing to host wedding services conducted by your chosen minister and Craigrownie Church is just a couple of miles south along the Loch and offers a beautiful setting in the woods above Loch Long.
A Civil Marriage may be solemnised only by an authorised Registrar. We have a licence for weddings conducted at the hotel, both inside and outside, and early arrangements with the local Registrar are recommended. You will also need a Marriage Licence and a Marriage Notice Form. Registrars will require a minimum of three weeks notice and non-uk residents may need as much as 12-14 weeks for processing of the necessary protocols.

Wee Weddings
Should your wedding be relatively small, the house offers you the service and personal touches necessary to provide you with a special day. If you have less than 30 guests, in your party you may simply want to hire a specific room or rooms with no need for exclusive use.

Reception
Our principal reception rooms, the Lounge Bar and the intimate Anteroom are perfect for receiving guests, both rooms have log fires and wonderful views out over the loch side and the lawns. The perfect backdrop for a classical duet or a Scottish harpist to play. You may also hold the reception outside on our terrace or lawns if the weather permits.

The Wedding Meal
The Garden Room with its doors leading out onto the terrace and lawns can accommodate up to 54 guests and can be rearranged after the wedding banquet for dancing.

Menus
Our
menus offer a large variety of fresh and local produce, but are suggestions only and if you have a favourite dish or preferred meal concept we are happy to discuss this. We have included our suggested
wedding menus for your consideration.
The wedding meal with consist of a set menu without choice, for the greatest majority of your guests, the only exception to this menu would be to accommodate guest with specific dietary requirements. In addition we need to be informed in advance of such requirements.
Confirmation of final arrangements (including your menu) should be confirmed to the hotel at least 28 days prior to the event. Final numbers and an accurate guest total is required 7 full days prior to the date of the wedding. This is the minimum number that will be chargeable should more guests attend this higher number will be charged.

Reception Drinks, Wines and Champagne
Before the meal it is quite usual to offer a reception drink to your guests, often, champagne. The costs will therefore depend upon the champagne or the drinks offered. We suggest a guest will consume approximately 2-3 glasses of champagne or wine per person during a reception.
We do not offer corkage. All items consumed by your party must be purchased from the Hotel. You and your guests may not supply your own bottles for consumption during the wedding meal or in the hotel bedrooms. A function wine list available.
Wine service commences immediately prior to the starter and finishes at the end of the main course. The expected consumption of wine is normally no less than ½ a bottle of wine per person. If a toast is to be offered after the speeches, a champagne, wine or liqueur may be offered.
After the meal your guests have access to the bar and may pay for their own drinks or we can offer these with your compliments.

Bar Opening Hours
We will normally run the bar until 2400hrs, should you wish to extend beyond then an administration fee of £100 per hour will be charged. The latest we will keep the bar open is 2.00 am.
An invoice for the drinks bill arising from additional expenditure at the function will be issued at the end of the event and must be settled before departure unless alternative arrangements have been made.

Confetti
No confetti is allowed inside the hotel, this includes the hotel bedrooms. Should you wish, biodegradable confetti or real flower petals are acceptable outside the hotel only.

Accommodation
The hotel offers a variety of rooms which are available for you and your wedding guests at a discounted rate for the period of the wedding only.
All exclusive use weddings will be required to reserve all the rooms for 2 nights if the wedding is on a Friday or a Saturday night.
All 13 rooms will be held for your party and you are responsible for the booking of each room your self. A rooming list is to be provided to the hotel with the names and the contact details of all the guests staying in the hotel at least 6 weeks prior to the arrival date.
Sofa Beds are available in Contemporary Room 8 and Master Room 1. They are a standard double size and suitable for 2 children or 1 adult only. The rate for additional guests staying on our sofa beds is £25.00 per adult and £10.00 per child (accommodation only).
Check in is after 3.00 pm on the day of arrival and guests are requested to depart from their room by 11.00 am
