Earlier this year we achieved our 4-star, two-rosette award from the AA. We’re utterly delighted to receive recognition for what we love – good service and great food. Between one and five rosettes are awarded for various levels of culinary skill, and two rosettes puts us amongst the best restaurants in the country. Only ten percent of restaurants in the UK are worthy of one or two rosettes, and we’re very pleased to be listed amongst them! At the two-rosette level, it’s all about cooking with precision with attention to the quality and selection of ingredients. We’re blessed with excellent ingredients here in Scotland, and our food aims to showcase the best of Scottish flavours in a new or interesting manner.
We love our food and the way it can delight our guests, and while our recent awards are important to us, we’d love to know what you think. Book a table through the website, or if you can’t make it to us, why not try our irresistible chocolate marquis recipe below?
The chocolate marquis dessert is devilishly chocolatey, thoroughly delicious and was one of our most highly praised dishes during our most recent inspection.
350g dark chocolate
6tsp cocoa powder
6 egg yolks
450g double cream
In a pan, melt the butter, chocolate and cream.
Bring to a slow boil.
In large bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sugar until pale before adding the cocoa powder.
Once it is combined, slowly pour the chocolate mix into your bowl and whisk until cool.
Set in the fridge.
