Knockderry is surrounded by water and fabulous scenery and is therefore the perfect base for an activity holiday.

Boating and Watersports

Sea canoeing, wind-surfing and kayaking are popular, as is water skiing. Loch Lomond is only 15 mins away and it’s inland waters are famous as one of the finest watersport venues in Scotland, with open spaces, sheltered bays and islands to explore.

The following activity providers are recommended.

The Clyde Estuary provides excellent sailing and watersports within its many sealochs, and together with superb inland lochs, makes one of the best sailing environments in the world. Those taking to the water can choose to venture out into the river or stick to the calmer bays and sealochs, the latter being ideal for dingy sailing.

If you have your own boat Knockderry House has its own 6 well maintained moorings and full Marina facilities are available at Rhu Marina.

If you wish to charter a boat then contact, Clan Charters.

Cycling is the best way around the peninsular and beyond and there are several companies that can hire you bikes for your holiday.

In addition, we will be installing our own cycle rack at the hotel this spring and will be looking to offer bike rental later in the season.
