My husband and I spent two nights with you last week and were so impressed with everything at your delightful hotel. We have both stayed in hotels throughout the world and agree that in terms of comfort and value it is among the best. The food was delicious and the service was just second to none. You manage to provide wonderful attentive service without it being obtrusive.

I would just like to say that our stay last night for a celebration was absolutely perfect. Your staff are the most courteous and helpful that I have met in a long time. We are a group of people who do travel so that is no easy compliment. No request was too much bother. I have already been recommending you to others!
Your rooms are so comfortable, individual and spacious and the fact we had a private room for both dinner and drinks really added to our wonderful experience. Great accommodation, location and views only added to a night to remember.All in all it was an amazing experience; great fun and great company. Head Chef Johnny Aitken and his team produced an excellent array of dishes and a real treat for anyone who is lucky enough to eat there. The hotel itself is extremely comfortable with great wines and a great malt collection!
I would like to thank you so much for a fantastic evening last Saturday, the food was amazing and it was awesome to see what you do. We were also hugely impressed at how friendly and cheerful everyone who works there was.
What a spectacular evening you gave us last night. Terrific occasion with wonderful wines and outstanding food (the quail was the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere…) great service and good company …we had a ball and can’t wait till the 14th May!
What a wonderful location, excellent food and it was real joy to be looked after by staff who without exception were unfailingly friendly, courteous, efficient and for them nothing was too much trouble to make our stay a very special event.

Thank you so much for all the hard work you and your staff did to make our wedding day so special. We had such an amazing day. Everyone else really enjoyed themselves as well and said what a stunning location and hotel Knockderry is. The food was absolutely gorgeous. We also had a great time on our honeymoon in the Maldives. Alex said that swimming there was slightly warmer than in Loch Long! We hope to be back up at Knockderry again next year.

Even though it was only a week ago it seems like an age since we were in the glorious sunshine getting married.
I know we briefly spoke on the Saturday but on the Sunday as ever we had to rush off to ensure we made our flight connection.
I just from the both of us a massive thank you for making the day perfect and so special. I know you were not in control of aspects such as the weather and the guests but both of these just seemed to conform to everything that you had put in place.
Although we already knew that the venue was stunning and the food was going to be fantastic there were countless other elements which we had not expected which made a massive difference to the day.
Firstly the staff. From the moment I walked through the door I was warmly greeted and after the first interaction with each member they knew my name and instigated conversation. We are normally used to politeness but never anything personal. I can honestly say that by the time we left it felt more like home then a hotel with staff tying laces of our shoes, collecting items we had left elsewhere in the building giving advice on different issues and asking what times to clean our rooms etc. This personal touch was noticed defiantly by the residences but other non-residences commented on their attitude to their work.
We did not except table service with the wine and sparking wine, we just expected the bottles to be plonked on the table and the guests expected to pour their own – this was a nice touch and made everybody feel like they were at a high standard restaurant rather than a wedding.
We always knew the food was going to be good, and to be fair that was a major factor in choosing the venue in the first place, however we were amazed at how every single dish was perfect and of the highest quality. I know myself and James did not eat all of ours but that was nerves rather than through dislike of the meals but comments from other dinners such as “this is the best beef I have ever tasted” and “if I get executed tonight I will die a happy man because of how good the food was” just shows how impressed some of the guests were.
Our aim was obviously to have our perfect wedding however dragging 80 Yorkshire men to Scotland we wanted them to have a good experience and an enjoyable weekend away excluding the wedding. Obviously the weather had a massive impact on the enjoyment level however the service from the staff and the quality of the food made every member of the party have a fantastic and memorable weekend – and coming from a Yorkshire man that is hard to achieve.
I know speaking to people there are certain parties considering a return trip to the hotel so hopefully this bears fruit. I know for a fact we have been inundated with people’s comments on the hotel and how magical the location is through photos which were taken on the day. Although we haven’t had the official photos back yet the ones taken on standard cameras look amazing. The band, make up artist and photographer are using some of these for there website and promotional material. If you want any of the official or unofficial photos then we would be glad to send these over to you for you to use. In addition to this we are more then happy to speak to any prospective wedding parties to tell them of our experiences as we feel it’s the least we can do after everything you have provided.
Finally as we left our table plan up there we have already booked a return visit for Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th of May evenings. So we both look forward to returning and we hope it’s the first of many more visits.
