Special Events - Private Dining
Thank you for your interest in holding your function at Knockderry House. The following notes have been written to help you design, plan and cost your function as easily as possible.
Please find below a sample of our menu selections.
Private Function Menu Selection 2007
The menu should ideally be the same for all guests for each course but should you require any special dietary requirements please let us know and we will happily try and accommodate. All menus include fresh bread and butter, coffee or tea & whisky tablet. Please indicate for how many, and place your order a minimum of 10 days prior to the function. Starter Course
Spring green minestrone (V) or soup of choice
Goat’s cheese and shallot tartlet (V)
Twice baked cheese soufflé (V)
Game and wild mushroom terrine with homemade fruit chutney
Duck confit with a honey and fig compote
Trio of smoked fish served with a horseradish and poppy seed cream
Main Course
Mediterranean ratatouille wrapped in filo pastry with a red pepper coulis (V)
Wild mushroom & feta wellington with a cloudy cider and honey reduction served with a sautéed sage butternut squash (V)
Pan fried Rahane beef fillet served with a fondant potato, braised red cabbage and served with a ruby port jus infused with roasted garlic
Pan fried Scottish salmon with crushed new potatoes served with leaf spinach and a tomato and dill beurre blanc
Poached cornfed chicken supreme served with marquis potatoes and a finished with a green grape sauce
Roast saddle of lamb with a herb crust, roast shallots, baby potatoes and celeriac mash.
Desserts Course
Vanilla crème brulee served with home made shortbread
Seasonal berries marinated in aged balsamic vinegar and served with home made vanilla ice cream
Rich chocolate truffle cake with a cointreau and orange coulis
Whiskey flavoured bread and butter pudding served with cream
Prune & armagnac tart with orange curd & crème fraiche
Pears poached in port served with marscarpone cheese
These menus may alter to reflect the time of year, seasonal produce and availability. In addition we can offer the following to add to your function choices:
* canapés prior to dinner £4.50 per head
* glass of champagne prior to dinner £5.00 per head
* glass of port after dinner £4.50 per head
* Scottish cheese board served with oatcakes, & homemade chutney £4.95 per head
Wines
We have selected the following wines as being excellent value for money and suitable for most occasions. Should, however, you wish to select wines from our extensive wine list, please just download our current wine list and we will be happy to assist you with your wine selection and prepare a quotation.

Terms and Conditions
All bookings are provisional until a non-returnable booking fee of 25% is paid and a written confirmation received to confirm the booking. 10 days prior to the function final numbers are to be confirmed. This is to allow ordering to take place and will be the final number upon which the final invoice will be based.
The balance is due on the date of the function unless agreed in advance.
We charge a 10% service charge for all groups of 8 or more.
Cancellation Policy
In the unfortunate event that your function is cancelled less than 2 weeks before the date of the function there will be a cancellation charge of 50% of the agreed costs. This is to offset lost business and to cover the costs of ordering.
