Reservations and Deposits
To guarantee your reservation, we require an authorised credit card or debit card, and a nonrefundable deposit of £25.00 per person / night if booked by telephone, or the equivalent of the first night’s stay if booked online or with an online provider. Provisional bookings will not be kept for longer than 24 hrs.
Cancellations and Amendments
Our geographical position makes it necessary for us to reserve the right to make a full charge for any cancellation within 48 hours of arrival or for any curtailment of a stay if the room remains unsold. For longer stays we recommend you to take out insurance against cancellation. Should you wish to amend the date of your stay we will charge an admin fee of £5.00 to your balance. Only one change of date will be granted.
Due to escalating charges we can no longer carry the costs of credit card transactions 2.5% of your balance will be added to your bill for normal cards and 4.5% for AMEX. Costs of Switch and Debit Card transactions will continue to be borne by the hotel. Payment by AMEX is for corporate guests only.
Bookings through 3rd Party
No commission to any third party agent is payable unless agreed in advance in writing with Seaforth Hotels Ltd.
Please apply to the hotel for our Corporate Rates. All reservations must be confirmed by email. For short stays no deposit is required but for stays over 7 days in length we require a cc to confirm the room and may require a deposit of £25.00 per night. Please note our cancellation policy.
Arriving and Departing
Check In: From 1500 hrs ; Check Out: By 1100 hrs – earlier and/or later by prior agreement.
Please advise us if you intend to arrive after 10.00 pm so that arrangements can be made to greet you. Dinner can be ordered until 8.45pm, however, will be delighted to set aside a late supper if you order in advance. If we are not advised of a late arrival by 10.30pm we may assume that you will not be arriving that evening.
Children and Families
We currently have one family room with a king size double bed and a fold out sofa bed suitable for children under 14 yrs. Children under 5 are free; 5-14 yrs can share their parents bedroom for a charge of £20.00 per night including breakfast. We also have a double twin room which is suitable for family use.
Guests may not store or consume their own food in their rooms without the prior consent of the hotel as food hygiene is a priority.
Knockderry Country House is a licensed premise and thus guests may not consume their own alcohol on the premises of the hotel or its grounds. Should guests wish to bring their own alcohol such as a particular bottle of champagne we are happy to store and serve this for them. A £15.00 corkage charge per bottle of wine will apply.
Dogs are welcome at Knockderry House. However they are allowed in designated bedrooms whilst accompanied by their owners and are not permitted in public areas. There is a charge of £15 per stay with a maximum of two small dogs per room. We request that owners ensure that their dogs use their own beds for the duration of their stay and are not left unattended at any time in their room. We also request that dogs are allowed on the furniture including the bed and the sofas. Any damages will be the responsibility of the owner.
Smoking in Scotland is not permitted in any public place nor in any of our bedrooms. As our guests expect a smoke free atmosphere in our rooms we will be obliged to charge you a minimum of a further nights stay for any additional cleaning and laundering required to return the room to a smoke free atmosphere.
