Once upon a time, not so very long ago,there were small villages on the slopes of Ben Lomond. Come along to the recently thatched cruck-framed building at Ardess, Rowardennan, and try your hand at a variety of traditional skills, and learn about life in days gone by. Tea and bannocks available from the campfire kitchen with live traditional music and song throughout the day. A Free Event but donations are welcomed.
– Try the Green Woodworking techniques used in the building construction
– Help the wool spinners spin their yarns; try stone carving, and lend a hand to mow the meadow by scythe.
– Learn rope making techniques and have tea and bannocks around the fire.
– Make artist’s willow charcoal to take home,
and all surrounded by the comforting sounds of live traditional music in the open air.
